As a young man in the Bronx at a time when baseball had as much to do with sport as it did national identity, my grandfather used to drive around the neighborhood and play ball with Hank Greenberg, and this morning I’m riding the train to work with Hank Greenberg. Time truly is a flat circle. Every day brings with it a chance to carry the past along with you; make sure that you’re carrying the good stuff. Glad to be sitting with Big Z today :)
Spaced on a Saturday Night. “You think I’m unemotional, don’t you? I can be emotional! Jesus, I cried like a child at the end of Terminator 2.” Tim has three letters in his name. I do, as well. Coincidence? #spaced #tim #hellobrian #edgarwright #simonpegg #nickfrost #jessicahynes #mostbrilliantbritishcomedyever
I spotted this magnificent stone face at the Museum of Natural History the other day and it stopped me in my tracks. I’ve been to that place nearly a dozen times but there’s always more to discover, which is perhaps my favorite thing about the museum. This statue is easily five feet tall and so commanding, and it truly smacks you in the head with history. I can’t help but be intimidated by its gaze, fearful of its size, and in awe of its magnificence. Look what we can do. #latergram #history #stone #statue #amnh #arivacation (at American Museum Of Natural Science)
Watering the plants on my patio today has reminded me to pay attention to the little details life puts in front of us. Don’t let yourself get so distracted by the biggest, fastest, loudest things; instead meditate on something beautiful, complex, small and silent. Life happens all around us, all of the time. Think small!
So this just happened: listening to Aisha Tyler’s podcast, getting followed by Sterling Archer on twitter and then Danger Zone comes on over the gym’s PA system.
